Now Hiring: Full Time Deputy Clerk
Position Overview:\ The Deputy Clerk assists the Town Clerk in performing a wide range of administrative, clerical, and customer service duties. This position involves frequent interaction with the public, handling official documents, processing various licenses and registrations, and supporting municipal operations.
Responsibilities Include:
Assisting residents with motor vehicle registrations, vital records, hunting & fishing licenses, and other municipal services
Recording and filing official documents and maintaining accurate records
Providing excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and via email
Assisting with elections, town meetings, and other official proceedings
Supporting the daily operations of the Town Clerk’s office and covering duties in their absence
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional clerical or municipal experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn specialized municipal software
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Willingness to attend training as required
Work Schedule:\ This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with occasional evening hours for elections or special events.
