The Paris Police Department offers their property on Church Street as a “Safe Trading Zone” for sellers and buyers on websites such as Craigslist or eBay, or Oxford Hills Swap and Sell on Facebook. The parking lot and front reception area may be used for private exchanges of goods for money, in an effort to help prevent crime. The parking lot is kept under watch and the entrance lobby has video surveillance. The parking lot can be used at any time, but the front lobby is only open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. No appointment is necessary, but people wishing to use the lobby might want to check with the front office ahead of time to ensure the reception area will be unlocked when it will be needed.
