The Town of Paris Fire Department is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Per-Diem Firefighter/EMT. Qualified candidates must possess, at a minimum, high school diploma or GED, Firefighter 1 & 2 qualifications, EVOC, a Maine EMT license, ICS 100, ICS 700, and pumps 1 OR documented training equivalent. Any additional training in the areas of vehicle extrication, rope rescue, cold-water rescue, RIT, fire/life safety educator is desirable.
The Paris Fire Department serves a population of 5200 over 63 square miles, with an annual call volume of approximately 500. Paris currently staff’s a crew of 3 working 11 hour days, supplemented by on-call members, and works closely with mutual aid companies from surrounding towns. Paris Fire both provides and receives automatic mutual aid to and from surrounding communities for fire suppression, and is the primary coverage for jaw’s, airbags, rope-rescue, and water rescue for several surrounding towns.
