Burn Permit Information

The state is divided into seven (7) weather zones with Paris in zone three (3). The Fire Danger and Class Day is predicted by the State on a daily basis and broadcast to the fire departments on county fire radio daily between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. The fire danger class day is a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the more extreme.

During dry weather conditions permits are issued only after the State has predicted the Fire Danger Class Day. Fire permits are not issued on any class 4 and 5 Fire Danger days and very seldom on a Class 3 Fire Danger days.

To view the Fire Danger day please visit The Maine Forest Service webpage. Reports are issued daily for all zones by 9:00am.
